Careers in Agricultural Mechanics - Finding the Right Fit

Careers in Agricultural Mechanics - Finding the Right Fit
Students are drawn to agriculture mechanics, and many leave high school with marketable skills. So what's next? How can you help your students identify the best path to pursue their career in agricultural mechanics?
This unit walks students through the process of identifying options for pursuing careers in agricultural mechanics after high school. Students begin by differentiating between experience-building jobs, and life-long careers. Next, students explore three primary paths for post-secondary training: trade schools, apprenticeships, colleges and universities.
At each step students compare and contrast the programs, while considering their own learning preferences. Students complete this unit by developing a plan for pursuing higher education training in agricultural mechanics.
