Creating A Theatre Company PBL Project

It looks exciting and fun to put on a show! The costumes, lights and roar of the crowd are very alluring, but it really is a lot of work and a business. Students will create a specific type of theatre company with a season for a target audience and a budget. The final presentation of their theatre company will include a brochure that includes a company philosophy, logo, motto and information about the upcoming season and a Pitch Presentation with a PPT. Lesson 1: An introduction to the many roles that need to be filled in the production and managerial aspect of putting on a show! Lesson 2: The importance of a producer, business staff and a budget that make up the Business of Show Business. Lesson 3: The different types of theatre which includes a variety such as educational theatre, community theatre, professional theatre and many more. Lesson 4: Students will Create their own Theater Company This project is brought to you by Kathleen Harris (CTE) with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by the Course Team Lead Gayle Nicholls-Ali.
